First day of SPRING break?

We woke up today, the first day of spring break, to a cloudy sky. I was sad because I had planned on going kite flying this afternoon. Shane texted me from work telling me it was snowing up at his lab (a little way up the mountain). I looked outside and it was just raining here. A little while later I opened the blinds and saw SNOW!!! It was coming down pretty good. We all bundled up and headed out to enjoy it while we could because snow in Pima is a pretty rare thing. What a fun morning!

Aidan

Aidan has been working really hard lately on being good. A couple of weeks ago he somehow ended up with 2 drinks at lunch. Instead of not worrying about it, he went during his recess and got a quarter he had in his desk and took it to the lunch lady and told her it was for his extra drink. She was very impressed with Aidan's honesty and told him thank you.

On Monday Aidan volunteered to give the lesson for family home evening. He spent quite a bit of time writing down what he wanted to say. He even wrote down some things for us to act out about being good examples.

Aidan is also working hard on standing up for himself especially at school where it is scary to do that. He told me yesterday how he told some kids to quit being mean and that even though they told him he was dumb he still did it.

You never know what Aidan will come up with. He is always telling and writing stories, drawing pictures, creating things with legos and just being so creative! He loves, loves, loves video games and is doing very good at turning them off without getting mad when time is up. Then he goes and creates new ideas for video games. Someone told Aidan at school that he will be a famous artist when he grows up. He thought that was a pretty good idea, but also wants to be a writer, a car creator, a teacher and a superhero on the side with awesome ninja powers.

Diaper Changing Dude

On Monday I was rocking the baby to put him to sleep and Logan came and told me he needed a new diaper. I told him to just hold on a minute while I put down the baby and I would change his diaper. I went to lay down Torin and when i came back I found Logan changing his own diaper. He had taken off the old diaper (thank goodness it wasn't stinky!) and was laying on the floor powdering his own bum. He had baby powder all over him and the floor. He even had a new diaper and was trying to scoot it underneath him. I couldn't stop laughing it was such a funny thing to watch. When I went over to help him he told me he could do it himself. Needless to say I did help him eventually. I suppose this must mean he is ready to be potty trained if he is going to change his own diaper. I wonder if Logan would potty train himself too if I just wait long enough!
